2021-22 Registration Information

The NSJCA Competitions age cutoff date is 31st August - e.g. players are eligible for a particular age group if they are under that age as at the 31st August. For example, if your child is aged 11 on the 31st of August they are eligible for U12s.

You may request that your child play up one year. The LCCC Juniors Committee's strong recommendation is that children play in their true age group. We recognise that playing with friends in a higher age group is often a key consideration. However the club's aim is to maximise the development and enjoyment of all players, and this is compromised when children play in a competition that is above their skill level.

Players who do benefit from playing up an age level typically have aspirations to play representative cricket. Requests to play up two age groups should be submitted to the relevant age coordinator (listed below). Approval to play up two age groups is at the discretion of the NSJCA Dispensations Committee given regard to player safety and enjoyment, and may also be subject to a net trial. Parents can put in an online player dispensation form to this committee via the NSCJA website.

Requests to play down one age group should be discussed with the relevant age coordinator. Approval is at the discretion of the Junior Committee and must also be submitted in writing to the NSJCA for approval. Girls are automatically granted dispensation to play down one age group if requested. For Girl's cricket there is more flexibility to play up or down. Please talk to the girls Coordinators for more information on that.
